I want a moment to be real...

Treasure Planet is one of my favorite movies. I have never been so impacted by an animated film in my life. The similarities between Jim and myself are never-ending and uncanny. If they were to make a live-action version of this film I would be extremely excited, if they did it justice of course. But either way there is beauty in classics such as Treasure Island, and more so in this take on it. I love Sci-Fy and adore pirate stories so really it's perfect. The animation is superb, the voice acting perfect, and the combination of computer animation and hand-drawn art is astounding. The soundtrack is one of the most amazing things about this movie and I have been listening to it for almost 15 years, so I think that says something about the artistry of this film. It's wild and magnificent! and I'll never be uninterested in Jim Hawkins's journey or the mistakes that shaped his life and charged a new path for dreamers like me.

ACTOR SPOTLIGHT || VIGGO MORTENSEN

The way Viggo chooses to portray Aragorn in these movies is beautiful. To be an actor is to experiment with new ideas and techniques that may seem strange or not right at first but in the end, could earn you respect and honor for a character that may not have been played or even understood so well if you had not illustrated them the way you had. Always be willing to try something mad when acting. Don't be afraid to let the character become who you are and more importantly always let who you are, become the character.

THIS IS ACTING || HOW TO BE

To act is to feel. I see acting as art that expresses the deepest of emotions onto the viewer with such realism that the onlooker can only assume that this actor is truly feeling the emotions and words that they portray. Well, I would argue that I think that that is very often the case. To act is to feel. I must take emotions that are as tangible as my very figure and within the moment of extreme expression I make my move and it is an abstract one, at first. Then as soon as I let the emotions flow out of me and onto the eyes or hands or feet of my character I finally end the abstract and enter into reality or what I think is. To act is to feel is to be......act and you will be free.
